Wednesday night at Bocadillos on first is Thai night! The perfect excuse to join us for a warm and relaxing evening with great service and food at our restaurant in Port Elizabeth.
We’ve sourced the best, freshest ingredients available, and we’re ready to take you on a taste tour of Thailand.
What is Thai food?
Thailand is found on the continent of Asia, nearby to Vietnam, Cambodia and Malaysia. As is often the case with Asian cuisine, Thai food is very different from any conventional European or Western foods.
For those of us who are not as worldly and who aren’t sure what to expect from Thai food, here is a quick lesson in Thai cuisine.
Food from Thailand is epitomised by fresh ingredients, strong aromatic flavours and more often than not, a dash of spice.
Furthermore, Thai food is well known for ingenuity when it comes to combining sweet, salty, bitter and spicy.
Generally, Thai food is served with rice or noodles and packed full of vegetables. Some typical Thai ingredients include coconut milk, lemon grass, ginger, wild lime leaves, Asian mushrooms, kale and of course, chillies.
*No, you don’t need to know how to use chopsticks and no, it is not necessary for the food to be spicy!
